BULLDOG NOTES: Senior captain Noemie Marin enters the series against the Badgers as the second leading point scorer in the Western Collegiate Hockey Association. Marin has 15 goals and 15 assists for 30 points in 22 league games this season. Her 15 goals land her second in the league in goal scoring. Marin is tied for seventh in the nation in power play goals with eight in 26 contests. Freshman Saara Tuominen is currently 10th in the nation in points per game for rookies. Tuominen has 25 points this season, having scored seven goals and 18 assists. In WCHA play alone for freshman scoring, Tuominen has six goals and 18 assists for 24 poins. Freshman forward Emmanuelle Blais is third in the conference in freshman scoring with seven goals and 12 assists. Freshman goalie Kim Martin sports the WCHA’s top save percentage with a .959 in leage play. She is fifth nationally in goals against average with a 1.48 gaa. Martin is second in the nation in saver percentage with a .948. Bulldog senior goaltender Riitta Schaublin is No. 10 nationally in goals against average with a 1.75.

BADGER NOTES: Wisconsin enters the weekend’s series with firm control of the Western Collegiate Hockey Association, holding a 18-1-3 record in league play and 39 points. Senior forward Sara Bauer leads the conference in point scoring with 12 goals and 29 assists for 41 points in WCHA play. She is No. 3 nationally in points per game having scored 18 goals and 34 assists (52 points) for a 1.86 points per game average. The Badgers also have three more players in the top ten in point scoring in WCHA play alone. Junior forward Jinelle Zaugg currently leads the league in goal scoring with a total of 17 goals in 22 conference games. Junior Meghan Duggan leads the WCHA freshman in scoring with 15 goals, 14 assists and 29 points in 22 league games. Badger senior goalie Christine Dufour is No. 1 nationally in save percentage with a .949. She is also first in goals against average with a 0.91.

SERIES: Minnesota Duluth holds a 17-12-5 advantage in the all-time series with Wisconsin dating back to the 1999-2000 season. The two squads skated to a series split earlier this season with the Bulldogs taking the first game 2-0 before falling to the Badgers in a 1-0 contest the next day. UMD handed Wisconsin its only loss of the season with the 2-0 Bulldog win at the Kohl Center back on Nov. 24th. WCHA front-runner Wisconsin can claim the WCHA regular season crown with a win and a tie or two wins against the second-place Bulldogs.
